Frank T. Radosevich
Frank T. Radosevich, 84, of Des Moines died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 14 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter, IA.
Frank was born on June 5, 1929 in Melcher, IA, the youngest of the six children of Croatian immigrants, Louis and Johanna (Yacinich) Radosevich. He lived most of his life in Des Moines and graduated from Dowling High School in 1947. He was drafted by the St. Louis Browns minor league baseball team after high school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He spent his career working in the lumber business.
He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Church. He coached little league baseball and AAU basketball. He umpired for high school baseball and refereed for high school football. He enjoyed gardening, dogs and travel.
Those left to cherish his memory include wife of 58 years, Janice; three children, Marsha (Dr. William) Marshall of Lakeland, FL; Mark (Melanie) Radosevich and Mary Radosevich of Overland Park, KS; granddaughter, Katie Radosevich of Overland Park; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.
