Anna (Pinegar) Frey

Anna (Pinegar) Frey was born January 12, 1919 in Spring Hill, Iowa to Alfred and Myrtle (Pearce) Pinegar. She was employed by Armstrong Tire & Rubber and the Des Moines School District in food services. Anna was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidery and puzzles and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Anna passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Altoona Nursing and Rehab at the age of 95. She is survived by her children: Richard Jones, JoAnn Peltier, Linda Speed, and Carol Ann Hankins (Fred), all of Des Moines; sisters, Wanda Olson of Des Moines and Myrtle "Tiny" Blake of Lamoni; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

Services will be held at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
