Stanley Krum

Krum, Stanley Hamilton. 92, of WDM, IA, died February 2, 2014. Stanley attended Drake University, proudly served as a 1st Lt. and navigator in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and passionately enjoyed a long and successful career, ending in the position of executive vice president at Younkers department store. He was the devoted husband of Adelaide Sostrin Krum, WDM. Father of Deborah (Michael) Becker, WDM.

Grandfather of Laura (Cory) Kelly, Clive; Geoffrey Krum, DSM; and Colleen Krum, NYC. Great grandfather of Marley Bea Kelly, Clive. Uncle, cousin, and mentor to many. Grateful recipient of care from Pam Martin and Ben Hurley. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Bernie, sister Geraldine, son Jeffrey, and scores of relatives, colleagues, and friends garnered during the course of his long and full lifetime.

His family wishes to thank the medical personnel at Mercy Medical Center-West Lakes for their recent exceptional and compassionate care. Also, his family gives special thanks to Dr. Hooshang Soltanzadeh, Dr. Thomas Buroker, Dr. Bernard Mouw, Dr. Craig Shadur, and Dr. Robert Hoyt. Their steadfast purity of purpose and service, in conjunction with Stanley's herculean will to live, leant 22 added years to his extraordinary life.

Per his express wishes, a private family service followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery will be held. Memorial donations may be made to The , The , The National Kidney Association, Inc., Temple B'nai Jeshurun, or the .
