Todd W. Boy
Todd W. Boy, age 81, left this world peacefully March 23rd, 2014. Born October 18, 1932 in Harrisburg, PA, he was lovingly cared for by his daughter Aime Augsburg and five other children in his last years, along with his faithful caregivers at Springdale Assisted Living and Ageless Angels group home in Arizona.
Raised in Aurora, IL and Chester, NH, Todd graduated from Morristown Prep, NJ. After serving as a Sergeant in the United States Army at Ft. Benning, GA from 1953-1954, he entered the footwear business his father had begun. Starting with Todd's Shoes in Arlington Heights and Naperville, IL, he went on to build a four-state, multi-brand retail shoe store chain, including many "Todd's Naturalizer Shoes." His partner in the business and dear friend, Don Streubing, current owner of Todd's stores in Iowa, involved Todd as a consultant well into his retirement years.
An accomplished pilot and boat captain, Todd loved to travel. He spent many hours flying to his shoe stores in his Piper Saratoga plane, and navigating Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the Great Lakes and other areas of the country in his Carver Cruiser. Upon retiring he set off on various cross-country trips each year in his pride and joy Chevy Dully sporting "BOYSTOY" plates and pulling his Fifth Wheel, which he lived in between Iowa and Arizona until making Arizona his permanent home. His love of people throughout his life was his great pleasure, personally and in business.
Todd was preceded in death by his loving mother, Eleanor Willson Boy and father, Roland E. Boy as well as his former wives, Priscilla Morrison Boy and Lynn Ploger Augsburg Boy. He is survived by his children, Paula Augsburg Potter, Guy (Beverly) Augsburg, Aime Augsburg, Debby (Tom) Boy Gerhardstein, Art Boy, Tracey (Buddy) Boy Bethune, many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister, Ruth Boy Randall Frantz and many nieces and nephews.
