Ralph "Bud" Reining, age 92 passed away on February 16, 2014. Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Laurens, Iowa at 11:00 on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

On August 24, 1942, Bud was united in marriage to Dorothy Halder. Ralph and Dorothy had three children, Gloria, and twins Janice and Jimmy. He very proudly served three years in World War II, receiving many awards including a Purple Heart.

After Bud returned from the war, Bud and Dorothy made their home in Laurens, Des Moines, Estherville and returned to Laurens in 1960. As a barber, school bus driver, manager of the Laurens Theater and postman, he touched many lives in the Laurens community. For many years he and Dorothy were Mr. and Mrs. Santa in Laurens, Iowa.

He served as a "Fashion Consultant" for Des Moines Register Columnist Chuck Offenberger and was known as "Ralph of Laurens". He and Dorothy had a lot of fun with this and tried to bring back saddle shoes. Bud and Dorothy also drove the baggage truck for RAGBRI for many years and enjoyed all the folks they met on RAGBRI.

Bud's greatest joy was his family including his daughter Janice (Larry) Bloes of Des Moines, granddaughters, Lauri (Matt) Meneough of Norwalk, IA and Jenifer (Patrick) Wolfe of Altoona, IA and his wonderful nine great-grandchildren, Brandon and Blake Schmitt, Keegan and Kayleigh Meneough, Reed, Drew, Alea, Kate and Jack Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his son Jimmy and his daughter Gloria.
