I am so sorry for the loss of this amazing man. Pat welcomed me with a big smile almost every morning at QT. He knew me by name and my granddaughter eventually came in with me and they became familiar to him too. He was an amazing person and I can only image the loss his family is experiencing now. Prayers to all of his children, his wife and his granddaughter. The many times I have stopped in since he has been out haven't been the same and now never will.

My maternal grandfather was married to a Bridget Delequinn, which may or my not be the right spelling.
They were from Ireland, and Dele or Dela is believed to mean "of".
I have always been proud of that. Bridget was reported to have been an especially nice person.
The only other Quinn I have known was a priest from Carroll, Iowa circa 1940
I am proud that Patrick was a superb model of how to live right for so many.
Wow! What a man!!!

I am so sorry of the passing of my cousins husband. Pat was a wonderful person to be around. I remember so many fun times and laughter we had shared. I was very surprised when I heard the news. I could not understand how such a great person can be taken away with so many more memories to make in life. Our hearts and prayers go out to you, Nancy your family and Aunt Jo.
Love you, Steve and Rita

It's hard to put in to words the sorrow I feel. When I think of Pat the first image that I see is a happy, caring person with a wonderful smile.

I was saddened to learn of Pat's death. My condolences to your entire family. I knew Pat when he worked for my dad, Carl Patterson, at the Corning Hy-Vee. He tolerated the "boss' daughter" very well even though I was probably a little pain in the butt most of the time. I had the good fortune to run into Pat many times over the last 30 years or so at Hy-Vee, Walgreens and my neighborhood Quik Trip. He always had a smile and asked about my family, even though in the last couple of years I knew he was not well. RIP, Pat. Say hi to Dad for me!

Nancy and family,
Sorry for your loss. I called on Pat's store as a pre sales rep. Many times we would talk about the Hawkeyes and how the season might go. Pat was a very outstanding man.

I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Pat's death in the paper this morning. I met, and knew him from our neighborhood QT on Hubbell and E. 23rd.....he was always the kindest, friendliest guy, and I'll never forget the wonderful chats we had. It just breaks my heart to know he had to suffer from that horrible disease, but he's now with the Lord. You are all in my prayers.

Nancy and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I first met Pat in 2001 when I worked for the Des Moines Register. I called on him at QT on Mondays and one of the first times I met him I locked my keys in my car. He loaned me his car (to a virtual stranger) so I could drive home to get my spares. Years later he provided my reference on my QT application. I had the pleasure of working with him many times over the five years I worked there. When I lost my son in 2012 he cared enough to come to his visitation. He was a wonderful man and I am so sorry that we lost him. Much love!

Pat was one of my best friends from High School. We had little contact since, just a time or two at class reunions. He was always positive, always smiling. Setting up in the kitchen for band practice will always be some of my fondest memories.
