Richard "Dick" George Kramme was born in 1933 and passed away in the early morning hours of July 3, 2017 at Luther Park Trinity Center. The son of Sofus and Sarah Kramme, he spent most of his life in Des Moines, attending East High School and Grand View University. While at Grand View he met the love of his life and was married to Marilyn (Hansen) for 63 years. Together they built a life on the Eastside and happily welcomed four children; Kathy, Kimberly, Kari and Kraig.

Dick worked in the family bridge construction business, K.S. Kramme and Sons, Inc., with his father and brothers. He had many hobbies and friends. His favorite pastime was being a"city farmer" raising birds, chickens, goats, miniature ponies, fish, cows and pot bellied pigs at his acreage near Norwoodville. Dick was a longtime, faithful member of Luther Memorial Church and Danish Brotherhood. He was a proud supporter of East High School and Grand View athletics, where he was a member of their basketball teams.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, his children: Kathy (Gary) Blackford, Kim (Mark) Van Gundy, Kari (Brad) Wragge, and Kraig (Kathy) Kramme. Dick was a very loving and proud Papa to 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 more babies due in the winter.

Also surviving him are sister, Norma (Wayne) Knight, brothers, Bob (Ruth) Kramme, Harold (Lara) Kramme and Paul (Jan) Kramme, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation will be Friday, July 7th from 5:00-7:00 at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home and the memorial service will be Saturday, July 8th at 11:00 at Luther Memorial Church, 1201 Grandview Avenue.

The family would like to thank the staff at Luther Park Trinity Center, both the Adult Day Center program, Cedar Court Unit and Unity Point Hospice for their kindness, support, and direction in this memory care journey.
