Dr. Pewitt was my mentor. She started me on my teaching career. I used something she taught me every day of my 32 years of teaching.

Dr. Pewitt was my principal at the Career Planning Academy in Fort Worth during my junior and sophomore high school years in the mid-1980s.

She was an amazing educator who was fiercely dedicated to her students. I can honestly say I wouldn't have even graduated high school, much less college -- or enjoyed a 20-plus year career as a journalist -- without her encouragement and support.

She was "old school" --- tough on us when we needed her to be and equally supportive when the need arose.

I will never, ever forget her.

Rest in peace, Dr. Pewitt.

Sincerely,

My memories of the Pewitt family date to the late 1950s.
I remember my uncle listening to the radio farm program in the 1960s.
Edith was always such a trouper and inspiration during my aunt's final months. Many cheerful visits.
My best thoughts to Pam and the other family members during this time.

Our deepest sympathy on the passing of a precious lady. Ed and Edith were wonderful friends and horticulture enthusiasts from the time of our 1975 arrival in Grapevine. We cherish several plant transplants from their landscape and have enjoyed all our conversations with Edith. She was a valuable asset to Grapevine and will be greatly missed. Her smiling face was always a welcome sight whether at a Garden Club event or production of Edith's Follies. We thank the Good Lord for Edith's time on earth and express our sympathy to those left to cherish her memories.

May the Lord give you peace which passes all understanding!
