Andy Bahl, a computer programmer for Cash America, died unexpectedly, but peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park next to his beloved son, Chris. Visitation: 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Memorials: Gifts in his memory may be made to Respect Life Office, 800 W. Loop 820 South, 76108, or Texas Alliance for Life, 8000 Center Park Drive, Ste. 380, Austin, 78754. Andrew Matthew Bahl was born April 1, 1945, and celebrated an adoptive birthday on July 15, 1945, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Richard Cecil and Marie Cecile Balanger Bahl. Following high school, Andy enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from 1964-1968. When returning home, a childhood friendship with Sue Wallen was rekindled. Their parents were best friends and they grew up together. A loving relationship was formed and they married on Feb. 10, 1968, in Anaheim, Calif. Andy and Sue moved to Fort Worth for a job opportunity. They were longtime members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, where he was a Eucharistic minister, lector, and facilitator of the New Day Grief ministry. Andy was also a very active member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in many senior positions, including Grand Knight of Council #759, Faithful Navigator of San Juan Diego Assembly #2857, and district deputy of District 13. He also served in the 4th Degree Color Corps and Honor Guards. Andy and his family were selected as Council Family of the Year in 1998. His ministry was leading the rosary and vigil services for many Knights and members of his parish. Andy was a genuine and warm-hearted man who always lived larger than life. He leaves behind a legacy on the importance of living a life based on principles and convictions. He especially had a passion for the unborn child's Right to Life. He was preceded in death by his sons, infant Michael Patrick Bahl and Capt. Christopher Andrew Bahl, U.S. Air Force; his father, Richard Cecil Bahl; mother, Cecile Callantine; and his favorite beloved horse Secretariat. Survivors: Beloved wife of 46 years, Sue Bahl; daughters, Veronica Rodgers and husband, John, Kelly Moriarty and husband, Tim, and Kari Bahl; daughter-in-law, Kim Roberts; grandchildren, Caitlin Rodgers, Tyler, Lindsey and Grant Roberts, Katie and Christopher Moriarty; sister, Jeannie Colaianni; nieces, Courtney and Nina Colaianni; and nephew, Michael Colaianni.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing him, but, I know his beautiful, smart, funny, kind daughter, Veronica. He raised a wonderful daughter, and, all he poured in, she is a beautiful reflection of it! Love to his family. T

I worked with Andy in about 1993 when we were opening the new Dickies warehouse north of Fort Worth. We put in some long hard hours together, but had a lot of fun as well. Andy was larger than life - a great cutup, and a good friend. I know he will be missed greatly. RIP, Andy,

Kelly & Tim, prayers are with you & know that when we left the funeral home on Sunday the one word that came to mind when Greg & I were talking about our memories of Mr. Bahl was INTEGRITY. He was always very warm & welcoming any time I have been to their home. God bless you & we love y'all.

I worked with Andy at Cash America, he always had a smile and a kind word. We also traveled the same freeway to and from work each day. I could tell if I was running late if I didn't see Andy on 35 or Belknap. You're in God's care now. My prayers are with the family.
