Bosquez, Ramon "Raymond" - Benbrook
Ramon "Raymond" Bosquez, 75, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, June 19, 2016, with his family at his side. Foregoing the usual statements about courageous battles against cancer, he would have preferred to say it was living that eventually led to his death. Service: As per his wishes, there will be no memorial service. Following cremation, his wishes were to "wait" for his wife so they may have their ashes interred together in Van Alstyne Cemetery in Van Alstyne. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Tarrant Area Food Bank, 2600 Cullen St., Fort Worth 76107, Fed. Tax ID# 75-1822473. Proud of having been a U.S. Marine Corps staff sergeant, lifetime member of the NRA and a longtime machinist at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, he loved to read westerns, listen to country music, fish, hunt and tinker. For the last 25 years, Ramon spent his weekends remodeling the family home, caring for his lawn and preparing huge meals for everyone that came to visit. After retiring four and a half years ago, most of his time was spent caring for his wife of 51 years, Faye, and his little canine companion, Prince. His achievements, though probably small in the eyes of the world, were beyond compare to those who knew and loved him. His role in fatherhood was not bounded by biology, raising five children not related by blood, but bound by his love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Trinidad Bosquez; sister, Hortensia Bosquez; and brother, Robert Bosquez, Sr. When entering home hospice care last week, his beloved Prince never left his side, staying under his bed and patiently waiting. Prince passed of natural causes not long before Ramon. Survivors: His wife of 51 years, Faye Bosquez of Benbrook; brother, Joe Bosquez of San Antonio; sister, Angie Bosquez of Fort Worth; his children and their spouses; and his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
