Bagwell, Christopher Ryan - Benbrook  
Christopher Ryan Bagwell, 32, passed peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook. Chris was born April 19, 1983, in Midland to JoAnn and Don Bagwell. He graduated from Lee High School and attended Southwest Texas State. Chris will be missed in ways he never would have believed and forever loved by many. Despite many challenges, he never lost his love for life, people and special occasions. Chris had a generous heart, an artistic spirit, great intelligence, insightful wit, and an unrivaled love of movies. Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Ann Shreffler; and paternal grandparents, Howard and Lucretia Bagwell. Survivors: His mother and best friend, JoAnn Bagwell; father, Don Bagwell; brothers, Brian and Stephen Bagwell; beloved nephew, Pierson; aunt, Tina Shreffler; and many other relatives and friends.

Batson, Jerry - Benbrook  
Jerry Batson passed on to be with the Lord in his sleep on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at Neptune Society of Fort Worth. Burial of ashes, 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Jerry was born Feb. 15, 1940, in Tucumcari, N.M. He graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1958 and joined the United States Navy in 1960, retiring after 22 years as an aviation mechanic. After the Navy, Jerry was employed by General Dynamics in Fort Worth in product support training on the F-16 Fighter Program, retiring after 19 years. Survivors: Jerry is survived by a son, Michael and wife, Myriam, and children; sister, Janice and husband, Art; stepchildren, Sharon Green of Fort White, Fla., Thomas Shelton of Liberty, N.C., Janice Kunkle of Benbrook and Jerry Jernigan of Bridgeport; and 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Farrel and Juanita; brother, Thomas; sister, Joann; and wives, Pauline and Doris.

Becker, Joseph D. - Dallas  
Joseph D. Becker, 73, succumbed to his long battle with cancer with his family by his side on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2100 North Davis Drive, Arlington, 76012. Rosary: 6 p.m. Wednesday at Arlington Chapel, 1221 East Division St., Arlington, 76011. Joe was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Nov. 10, 1942. He spent most of his childhood in Houston and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1965. He had a distinguished sales career at Xerox Corporation for over 30 years. Joe was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a true Aggie and enjoyed his time on the golf course. He most loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Joyce Becker; three brothers; two sisters; son, Mark Becker and wife, Marlyn; daughters, Kristi Shanks and husband, John, Alison Thomas and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Abigail and Rachel Becker, Isabel, John Preston, Samuel Shanks and Abby, Sophie Jane and Chloe Thomas.

Mary Ellen Mitchell Anderson Bell of Lake Dallas and Fort Worth died peacefully in the arms of her beloved son, Randy, on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. She had been fighting many health issues and endured heartbreak over the recent passing of her husband, Coleman Bell. Memorial service: Please join family and friends for a celebration of life for Mary Ellen at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, 625 Williams Road, Fort Worth, followed by dinner at the church. Visitation 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. She was born May, 18, 1932, in Norton.

Francisca "Ching/AChing" Bocanegra Bernardez, 85 years old, of Fort Worth passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington. Francisca was born in Bais, Negros Oriental, Philippines, on Jan. 26, 1931. She received a business administration degree from St. Paul College in Dumaguete City. She was married to Genovevo Emperado Bernardez on Oct. 22, 1954. Francisca retired from Alcon Laboratories. She worked in the International Regulatory Affairs department. Francisca was a member of various women's auxiliary groups and had a passion for crocheting, reading and cooking. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cristine Oakes, and her brother, Celestino Bocanegra. Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Genovevo E. Bernardez; son, Gino and wife, Rose; daughter, Mirian and husband, Curtis; son-in-law, Wendal Oakes; daughter-in-law, Tana Oakes; grandchildren, Michelle Oakes, Whitney and husband, Adam Rudner, Kennedy and husband, Jason Manske, Cory and wife, Camae Oakes, Zac Farrar, Brendan and Anissa Bernardez; great-grandchildren, Madison Rose, Genevieve and Hazel Rudner, Avery and Rylan Oakes; sister, Maria Angeles Rabor and husband, Valfredo Rabor.

Effie Marie Bing, 86, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2016. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Grace Bible Church, 1450 Oak Hill Road, Fort Worth. Effie was born June 15, 1929, to Raymond Bryant and Bethine Hurst. She loved reading, playing games and doing crossword puzzles. She was a precious mother, grandmother and sister. Effie loved the Lord and loved her family. She was a very caring and loving person who cared for all. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Survivors: Daughter, Elizabeth McCulloch of Burleson; son, Mark Bing of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Shelley Frank and husband, David, Megan Kruckeberg and husband, Colter, Michael Slimp, Mark Bing Jr. and Bryan Bing; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Maxine Bird of Edmond, Okla., and Hattie Jones of Crowley.

Blake, Gilbert Harvey - Bedford  
Gilbert Blake, 88, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2016. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mission Central, First United Methodist Church of Hurst or your favourite charity. Gilbert was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Texico, N.M. He was the oldest child of John and Gladys Blake. He was in the U.S. Air Force. His career was accounting and later real estate. He used his accounting background by volunteering with several groups, including church, Lions Club and Boy Scouts (Troop 332, Hurst). He enjoyed his friends and the staff at Heartland, where he lived for several years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Sue Blake; parents, John and Gladys Blake; and four sisters, "Pepper" Parmer, Louise Janes, Bobbye McDonald and Joyce Thompson. Survivors: Daughter, Kim Blake; grandsons, Tim Grisham (Bethany), James Grisham (Jem); son, David (Kristin); grandson, Dalton Genat; sisters, Ida Hallmark and Patricia Younts; brother, Johnny Blake (Debbie); and several nieces and nephews.
