Knox, Mildred Lorene Bailey - Keller  
Mildred Lorene Bailey Knox, 92, passed from this life Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015. Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday in Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, Keller. Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Cherokee Children's Home, Cherokee, Texas; or In Search of the Lord's Way, Edmond, Okla. Mrs. Knox was born at her parents' home on the family farm in Quanah on Feb. 8, 1923. She was a homemaker, dedicated teacher, loving wife and mother. She and her husband, Joe Knox, were married 67 years before his passing in 2013. Most of those years were lived in Keller, where they raised their family, watching the town grow from a small rural area with two grocery stores to a large, bustling community. They moved to Bowie in 1992 and then later relocated to Lewisville to be closer to family. Mrs. Knox taught elementary school in Keller for many years, during which time she was instrumental in founding the Keller chapter of Texas State Teachers Association, serving as president for two terms. After retiring from teaching, she was responsible for helping establish Keller Christian School in 1981, a private preschool still in operation today. Mrs. Knox was the school's first director and then served on the board of directors for several years afterward. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, attending the Keller congregation for over 45 years, teaching children's classes as well as ladies' Bible classes. "Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies ... her children arise up and call her blessed." Proverbs 31: 10,28. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; and two sisters, Francis Louise and Cleo Maxine Bailey. Survivors: Brother, James "Bucket" Bailey and wife, Sue, of Abilene; sister, Bettie Brown of Houston; brother-in-law, Dean Knox of Galveston; daughter, Janelle Dennis of Lewisville; daughter, Susan Aston and husband, Mike, of Abilene; son, Tom Knox and wife, Jan, of Olathe, Kan.; grandchildren, Jolene McDonie of Lewisville, Julie Conary of McKinney, Jeremy Dennis of Lewisville, Jordan Aston of Lubbock, Jared Aston of Los Angeles, Calif., Melanie Larson of Edmond, Okla., and Justin Knox of Plano; and six great-grandchildren.

Lajoie, Marshall L. - Colleyville  
Marshall Lewis Lajoie died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015. Service: Pending. Marshall was born Aug. 6, 1954, in Waltham, Mass. He graduated from Trinity High School and UTA with an electrical engineering degree. Survivors: Mother, Marjorie Lajoie; and sister, Darlene Lajoie.

Lipscomb, Gary Wyatt - ARLINGTON  
Gary Wyatt Lipscomb passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. He was 63 years old. Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington, with Father Jim Gigliotti, T.O.R., celebrant. Interment: Per Gary's request, he will be cremated and his remains will be buried in the St. Maria Goretti Cremation Garden at a later date. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with a rosary at 8. Memorials: May be made to the St. Jude Shrine in Baltimore, Md., or the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., in lieu of flowers. Gary was born Sept. 14, 1951, in Sweetwater to Wyatt and Wanda Lipscomb. He grew up in Odessa and was a member of the Permian Odessa marching band and also the Permian Playhouse. Gary attended Southwest Oklahoma State University and became a pharmacist. He worked for Eckerd's, CVS and Kroger's before retiring. Gary was preceded in death by his mother and father, Wanda and Wyatt Lipscomb; maternal grandparents, Hermand and Pauline Heine; and paternal grandparents, Duke and Margarite Lipscomb. Survivors: Life partner of 28 years, Robert G. Heath; his son, Sean Wyatt Lipscomb and his wife, Lyndsey, and their daughters, Grace and Piper; and his sister, Gayle Romeros and her husband, Mike, and their children, Laurel and Connor.

Lofquist, Donald Gene - Albuquerque, N.M.  
Don Lofquist, 84, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015. Service: 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, at First United Methodist Church, 509 Peach St., Crowley. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the New Mexico VA Health Care System, Palliative Care Program-4D. Don was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Mayetta, Kan., to Gustav Nils Lofquist and Esther Kellen Lofquist. Don served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and he was a retired office printing equipment service technician and manager. Don was a 40-year resident of Crowley and lived the past four years in Albuquerque, N.M., near his daughter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Beverly Samsel Lofquist; and two brothers. Survivors: Son, David Lofquist and wife, Amanda, Emily and Ashton; son, Barry Lofquist and wife, Susie, Caroline and Claire; daughter, Melissa Creese and husband, Chalmers, Zoe and Carol; sister, Mary Louise Spenser and husband, Ross.

Loper, Geneva - Benbrook  
Geneva Loper, 99, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Geneva was born May 20, 1915, to Annie and Henry Briley in Birome. She was a 74-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was very active up until the time of her death, both in Arkansas and Texas. Geneva and her husband, Gene, owned a cattle ranch for 41 years near Hardy, Ark. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gene Loper; parents; and sister, Zella Harrell. Survivors: Niece, Konnie Harrell.

McComb, Glenn Rollins - Rhome  
Glenn Rollins McComb, 73, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at home surrounded by those who loved him. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, in Alexander's Midway Chapel, Springtown. Glenn was born March 26, 1941, in Lampasas to Helen Jones Badalati and Vernon McComb. They preceded him in death, along with brothers, Vernon and Charles McComb; sister, Von Thomas; and nephew, John Burge. Glenn retired from State Farm as an adjuster. He loved showing his 1950s Mercury and flying, and was a member of the Heritage Creek Pilots Association. Survivors: Sisters, Doris Prestage and Mary Finto; stepsons, Jamie Morton and Samuel Self; brother-in-law, Ron Thomas; three nieces; and three nephews.

Mitchell Sr., Edward Morgan - Keller  
Edward Morgan Mitchell "Poppy," 75, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, after a long, hard-fought battle with leukemia. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, Hurst, where Ed and his wife, Judy, have been longtime members. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Peace Lutheran Church, or charitable organization of your choice. Mr. Mitchell was born Sept. 1, 1939, at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas to Dorothy May Clower Mitchell and James Borders Mitchell. He married Judith Adkins Fenimore on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1980, and 35 years of wedded bliss followed. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother and grandfather. His passion for his Lord and Savior was exemplified in all he did, and he had no greater joy than to worship God through singing in the Peace Lutheran Church Adult Choir. He had a knack for computers and fixing things and enjoyed tinkering in his garage in his free time. In his retirement, Ed drove a school bus for Keller ISD and found profound happiness in serving the children in his community. His joyful spirit was infectious and he was a blessing to all who knew him. Ed is preceded in death by his mother; father; and grandchildren, Taylor and Lauren DeFord, and Meredith Fenimore. Survivors: His wife, Judi; his siblings, Juanita Hunt, Caroline Partain and James B. Mitchell Jr.; daughter, Susan Bellamy and husband, John; son, Edward M. Mitchell Jr.; stepdaughter, Tami DeFord and husband, Mortiz; stepdaughter, Tracy Chaney and husband, Dale; stepson, Travis Fenimore and wife, Kimberly; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Andi, Matt, Cara, Marissa, Madison, William and Olivia; and his beloved golden retriever, Sadie.
