How to place an obituary in Star-Telegram

The deadline for funeral homes to submit obituaries is 3 p.m. for the following day and 1 p.m. on holidays and the day prior. Many area funeral homes are connected to the Star-Telegram’s online system for submitting obituaries; the funeral home can provide a family a proof for their approval before submitting it to the Star-Telegram. Funeral homes may also e-mail or fax obituaries to the Star-Telegram. In the case of body donations to medical institutions, the immediate legal next of kin submits the obituary. The deadline is noon for obituaries submitted by the immediate legal next of kin.
