Karen's daughter, April, and I were best friends in our elementary years. I spent alot of time with the Burke family. I am very sorry to hear of this tragedy. I just found out the terrible news so I am saddened that I didn't get to attend the funeral or be there to support the family. April, Paul, and Amber, I will keep you in my prayers during this difficult time.

I am one of Karen's first cousins, and have fond memories of visiting her, Kevin, & Beverly in Benbrook (?), and the family gatherings at Mamaw & Papaw's cabin at Lake O' the Pines. It was a long, long time ago (the 1950s), and we were kids then. The last time I remember we were all together was in 1999, riding in my car, and the 3 of you were teasing each other and laughing so hard about all the things you did as kids. Four decades had passed, but we were kids again, and it was fun. Cherish those memories and Karen's spirit will live.
Love, Logan McNatt

Karen has been there for many. Personally she had spent time with my Family, taking care of her family and my family. Always takin a pose when it was picture time. Yes she loved to cook and take care of anyone who would let her. She loved the music and dance. Loved and Missed Dearly!!! Kids be strong, we are family call us if you need us. Love You

For the family of Karen Burke, I didn't know her, but I want you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. April, Amber, Paul, I know the feeling of the loss of a Mother, and if there is anything I can do to help please let me know. I had the good fortune to become Karen and Bills backdoor neighbor in the early 80's in Mansfield. I had no idea we would be neighbors for the next 18 yrs. April, Paul, Amber and Bill are like family to me. My family and Bills spent many occassions and holidays together. Many July 4ths in the summer. I will always look back in fond memory, and yes Karen was a wonderful cook. She fed me many times. Not to mention my kids too. Her children are like mine and I know she thought the same of our children and every child that stepped into her home. She will be missed immensely. God bless and kow that the lord is watcing your family.

To the Family of Karen Burke~ I never knew Karen, but read of this tragic story in the Newspaper. My prayers are for each member of her family. That God will comfort each one as only he can. It is tragic times like this that one wonders just where God is...but then we see that he is here as each human must strive daily to find strength to carry on! I lift up each of you in prayer, that God will whisper his love to you in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. She must had been a hard worker just trying to provide for her family. May her soul rest with God as she has now received her crown of VICTORY!

Karen was a sweet and kind friend that I had lost touch with after my marriage in 1989. She was always very tolerant of me, a single guy, just hanging around her and Bill. I'll always remember her as a great cook, wonderful mother, and a huge Cowboys fan. I have many fond memories of camping with her, Bill, and April, and the many Cowboy games we watched together. And I'll always remember the time that we (Bill, Karen, and I) went out in the teeth of that ice-storm back in 1979(?) in the middle of the night. She will be missed by all that knew her, and I am genuinely sad that I had not kept up with her these past few years.
