Arturo Siller Armijo

Arturo "Rambo" Siller Armijo, 71, a Purple Heart recipient, passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2013. Service: 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Amalla Funeral Home. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to AMVETS, 4647 Forbes Blvd., Lanham, Mass., 20706, in his honor. Mr. Siller Armijo was raised in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam. As a machine gunner in the 25th Infantry, he was awarded the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Service Medal from the Republic of Vietnam, Gallantry Cross, Marksmanship Badge and Combat Infantry Badge. He enjoyed fishing with his brother, cooking out with family, working on cars and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his sister, Yolanda Siller. Survivors: Wife, Lydia D. Siller; children, Maria Muga (Luis Jr.), Lydia Salinas (Edgar), Juanita Chavez (Jesus), Arturo Siller Jr. (Julie) and Carlos Siller (Leda); stepchildren, Martin Valenzuela and Rosalba Medrano; estranged daughters, Rosa Antonia and Araceli Siller; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Guadalupe Siller.
