Brent Taylor "Tate" Ellis, 23, of New York City, N.Y., was fatally struck by a subway train at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012. Memorial service: 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Japanese Garden in the Fort Worth Botanical Garden. Tate was born Jan. 29, 1989, in Fort Worth. He attended Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, then went on to graduate from SUNY purchase with a bachelor of fine arts in costume design. Tate made friends wherever he went, and was an extraordinary soul. Survivors: His partner, Collin Schulbaum; mother and stepfather, Terri and Tracy McKinney; sister, Hayley Conley; father, Robert Ellis; niece and nephew, Benjamin and Charlie Conley; and his uncle and wife, Jim and Carol Conley, who all loved him dearly.
