Bryan Bradford Burgin(1996 - 2012)

Bryan Bradford Burgin, 16, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012. Funeral: 3 p.m. Sunday at Christian Faith Center. Visitation: all day Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way in San Angelo, with the family present 3 to 5 p.m. Bryan was born in Arlington on Nov. 8, 1996. He grew up in Water Valley and attended school there. He also attended school at Lee Junior High and schools in Arlington. He was a great athlete and played sports for Water Valley High School and Lee Junior High. Bryan was a straight A student and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Bryan was very devoted and took great pride in all that he did. He was a Cub Scout and a member of Carlsbad First Baptist Church. In his spare time, Bryan could be found fishing, playing sports with his friends or playing video games. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the ICU staff at Shannon Medical Center, Dr. Dubai and Dr. Duarte for all the special care given to Bryan, and to Jeri Koonce and all of Bryan's friends for the prayers, care and West Texas hospitality. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Coy Bradford; and parental great-grandparents, William Cleve Burgin and Berthal Mae Burgin. Survivors: Father and stepmom, James Burgin and wife, Alicia, of Arlington; mom and stepfather, Lynda "Cricket" Lynn McClain and husband, Roger; brother, Jayce Christopher Lewis of San Angelo; sister, Sophie Isabella Burgin of Arlington; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Lynda Lee Tyler of San Angelo; paternal grandparents, Jim Burgin and wife, Tina, of Dallas and Teresa Burgin of Arlington; maternal great-grandmother, Len Bradford of Carlsbad; many loved stepgrandparents and step-in-laws; and many, many wonderful friends.
