Charles Philip Walter Jr., 60, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at home. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday at Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church, 715 E. Lamar Blvd., Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Guild of Organists. Charley was born in Queens, N.Y., on July 2, 1952, to Edna and Charles Walter. He graduated from Jamaica High School and attended the College of Artesia in Artesia, N.M. He moved to Arlington in 1983 where he worked as a computer programmer, a systems analyst and a web designer. He loved music, golf, building stereo equipment and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Daughter, Jen Walter-Ballantyne and husband, Brent; sister, Linda Turner; nephews and nieces, Gary Grant, Rob Tiffany, Ashley Griesemer, Bill Tiffany Jr., David Tiffany and Liz Ward; and former wife and friend, Julie Walter.
