David L. Schroeder, 55, of Geneseo, Ill., passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at a medical center in Silvis, Ill. Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington. Memorials: May be made to the David Schroeder Memorial Fund. David was born July 23, 1958, the son of Otto and Doris Schroeder. He was a 1976 graduate of Arlington High School. He then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in computer science from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches. He was united in marriage to Dee Nelson on June 21, 1986, in Richardson. They later separated. David spent the last 15 years working as an IT project manager for Deere & Company in Moline. David was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Geneseo, the Knights of Columbus, and his Cursillo Prayer Group. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for forestry and conservation. He enjoyed spending time on his land and loved the mountains of Red River, N.M. He was a loving, devoted father and cherished spending time with his family in Texas.
