DeLoyce M. "Mama Dee" Wilder, 92, passed peacefully from this life into eternity Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, after a brief illness. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Wiley Funeral Home. DeLoyce and her twin sister were born July 29, 1921, in Dallas. She was a lifelong resident of Texas and moved to Pecan Plantation in Granbury in 2007 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Her vibrant personality led her to be known as Mama Dee to many dear friends in Pecan Plantation. For the past year she was a resident at the Courtyards assisted-living facility in Granbury and touched many lives there as well. Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, James Griffin Mays and Donald Griffin Mays; grandson, James Mays II; brother-n-law, Leslie Hackler; and husbands, Edwin Griffin in 1944, Charles Shoecraft in 1978 and Orville Wilder in 2007. With so many losses, she could have been a sad and bitter person. Instead, she was upbeat, vibrant, caring and supportive of those of us she left behind. She will be dearly missed by all. Rest in peace, dear lady. Survivors: Former husband, Bill Mays; their daughter, Susan Dee Mays Smith; son-in-law, Herman Smith; twin sister, DeNeyce Hackler and family; grandson, Randy Gheen and family; granddaughter, Staci Jackson and family; and grandson, Kenneth Mays and family.
