Edna Mae Koch, 76, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the VFW
Hall, 707 E. Nelson St., Bowie. Edna was born in Frame, W.Va., to Katherine and Clifton Shafer on Aug. 21, 1937. She was a devoted wife of Orville Koch and they were married Nov. 20, 1954, in Fayetteville, W.Va. As a military wife, she stood by Orville's side for his 22 years of service to his country before starting her own career. She worked as a beautician for 15 years then a quality control inspector for Boeing, electronics division for 11 years. Edna was preceded in death by Katherine and Clifton Shafer and Janet Shafer Kennimer. Survivors: Husband, Orville Koch; children, Angela and Terry Scott, Duane and Karla Koch, Mia and Brian Kile; siblings, Steve Shafer, Jack Shafer, Sheila Shafer Brown, Jerry Shafer, Johnny Shafer and Marilyn Shafer Jennings; grandchildren, Leigha Scott, Lee Scott, Caitlin Koch, Glen Bridgewaters III, Alex Koch, Erika Dower, Taylor Koch and Heather Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Allie Scott and Kamdyn Scott.
