Evelyn Geraldine Irvin, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, May 12, 2014. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood. Evelyn "Jerri" was born in Fort Worth on Jan. 6, 1926, to Alvin and Hazel Bulin. Jerri was married to the love of her life, Cecil Z. Irvin, on June 30, 1946. She and Cecil raised two sons and a daughter. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was affectionately called "Me-Maw." Jerri worked for many years as a secretary at the Fort Worth Health Department where she made many longtime friends. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family at the Irvin lake house on Lake Palo Pinto. Her gentle nature and sweet demeanor endeared her to all who met her. Jerri was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Cecil Irvin, in 2011. Survivors: Sons, John Irvin and wife, Cindy, and Mike Irvin and wife, Marianne; daughter, Karen Wheeler; grandchildren, Melissa Cordell, Leigh Ann Cole, Jon-Michael Irvin, Leslie Harris, Marci Kirkpatrick, Kirsten Irvin and Casey Harris; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jean Hughes and Catherine McIntyre.
