Frank E. Gardner, 87, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in Granbury. Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury. Visitation: 1 to 2:30 p.m. in Holly Hills Mausoleum Chapel. Memorials: Ruth's Place Clinic, 1411 Crawford Ave., Granbury, Texas 76048; or TCU Alumni Association, TCU Box 297430, Fort Worth, Texas 76129. Mr. Gardner was born Jan. 6, 1926, in Clarksville to Thomas and Lillian Parker Gardner. He married Martha Madding on Nov. 26, 1963, in Houston. Frank served in the U.S. Marine Corps
from 1944 to 1946. He served in Guam, Saipan, Peleliu and Japan, and was awarded the Purple Heart
. After serving in the Marine Corps, Frank graduated from TCU in 1950 and remained an avid TCU alumnus. He and Martha celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 26, 2013. Survivors: Wife, Martha Gardner of Granbury; children, Matthew Gardner of Houston and Kathryn Bovard of Las Vegas, Nev.; and nephews, Tom Gardner of Huntsville and John Gardner of Livingston.
