Gaile Huckabee Aston(1925 - 2013)

Gaile Huckabee Aston, 88, went home to see her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 5, 2013. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Terrace. Graveside service: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Gaile wanted donations made to the University Christian Church Children's Clothes Closet. Gaile was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Blue Ridge. She graduated from Conway High School in Conway, Ark., in 1942. Her family then moved to Fort Worth where she attended Texas Christian University for one year before transferring to the University of Texas in Austin. She graduated with a pharmacy degree in 1946. For adventure, she moved to Hawaii with her sister, Elizabeth, working as a pharmacist for two years at Hollister's Drug Store in Honolulu before returning to Fort Worth where she became the first woman pharmacist. She married Joe Morris Aston in 1952 and worked for Whitten's Pharmacy for 27 years. She had been a resident of Trinity Terrace since 1996. Gaile was preceded by her parents, DeWitt and Zella Huckabee; husband, Joe Aston; brother, Kermit Huckabee; and sister, Elizabeth Huckabee Sloat. Survivors: Nephews, James Bragg and wife, Deborah, of Fort Worth, Jeff Huckabee of Pittsburgh, Pa., Bruce Huckabee of Quinlan, Paul Huckabee and wife, Helena, of Denver, Colo., John Huckabee of Seattle, Wash., Randy Sloat of Salt Lake City, Utah, Rob Sloat of Provo, Utah, and Rick Sloat and wife, Stephanie, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; niece, Victoria Sloat Schaffner of Tulsa, Okla.; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Huckabee of Denver, Colo.; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
