George Kostohryz passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, Jan. 24, 2014. He was 82 years old. Service: A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3312 Dryden Road. Recitation of the Holy Rosary and family reflections will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper, with visitation until 7 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, his family suggests contributions to the Helen Smaistrla Memorial Fund, Catholic Daughters of America, Court 829, in care of Dianne Friend, 313 N. Marable St., West, Texas 76691. The fund was established by George to honor his late mother-in-law, aiding those in need in his hometown of West. Born in West on April 1, 1931, George was a graduate of the University of Texas
at Austin and the SMU Dedman School of Law. He was a former editor of The West News and retired as division vice president of contracts for General Dynamics, Fort Worth Division. His family wishes express their appreciation to Dr. Marshall Morrison for the kind and compassionate care shown George throughout his long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kristin Kellow; son-in-law, Jimmy Randolph; brother, Robert Kostohryz; and sisters, Laura Jean Matkin and Nell Ruth Jung.
