Gloria A. Greene, a retired educator in the Fort Worth ISD, graduated from labor to reward Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013. Service: Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at St. Rita Catholic Church. Interment in Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Baker Funeral Home and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita Catholic Church. A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rita Catholic Church. . Gloria was born Oct. 25, 1930, to Thomas Walter Henderson and Bunia Arelia Henderson in Waco. Gloria attended East Waco Elementary and graduated from Moore High School. Gloria went on to attend Tennessee State University where she received a BS in elementary education. She also received a master of education from University of North Texas, formerly North Texas State University. Gloria moved to Fort Worth and began her teaching career for the FWISD, where she taught for 35 years at Riverside Elementary, Sunrise MacMillan Elementary and Oaklawn Elementary and retired from Natha Howell Elementary. Her organizational affiliations were Progressive Literary Arts Club, Fort Worth Retired School Employees Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association and lifetime member of National Education Association. She married Hillary Greene, Nov. 29, 1957, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Waco; they were blessed with two lovely daughters, Andrea Michelle and Karen Janae. She was a faithful member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Andrea Michelle; and brother-in-law, Knox Tucker. Survivors: Gloria's memories are cherished by her loving husband, Hillary; her daughter, Janae Tinsley; grandson, Brandon Tinsley (Genia); great-granddaughters, Breanna and Michelle; son-in-law, Larry Bailey; sister, Jimmie Loraine Tucker; niece, Adrienne Smith (Ralph); and nephews, Christopher and Patrick Smith.
