Gwen Fulton went to be the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at the age of 101. Service: Noon Wednesday at Laure Land Funeral Home, 6000 S. I-35E, Dallas. Gwen was born in Mineola, Ark., and after a long journey passed away in Burleson. She lived a long and full life. She was always an inspiration and very supportive to her family. Living through the depression she was able to guide her family through the good and bad times. Gwen was a member of the Church of Christ of Burleson where she attended until unable to drive to services in her 90s. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Fulton; son-in-law, Gordon Cockerham; parents, Mark and Althea Smedley; sisters, Artie Milam, Meatus Busbee, Pat Couch, Florence Walker, Norma Smedley and Betty Howard; and brothers, Buck Smedley and Foy Smedley. Survivors: Daughter, Bobbie Cockerham of Burleson; brothers, Bob Smedley and wife, Ruby, of Texarkana and Ray Smedley and wife, Geraldine, of Mesquite; sisters, Bonnie Johnson of Texarkana and Wanda Mulholland and husband, Walt, of Oregon; grandson, Lon Cockerham and wife, Marian; grandson, Bret Cockerham and wife, Carla; granddaughter, Sherry Brooks and husband, Ted; great-granddaughter, Amber Quintanilla and husband, Carlos; great-grandson, Aaron Brooks; great-granddaughter, Candace Clarke and husband, Paul; great-grandson, Cody Cockerham and wife, Shelby; great-granddaughters, Jenny, Megan and Annie Cockerham; great-grandson, Keet Cockerham; great-granddaughter, Stephania Smith and husband, Cal; great-grandson, Christopher Stephens; and many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
