Hendricks D. Cunningham, a retired educator with the Fort Worth Independent School District and a retired General Motors
employee, traded his old house for a new "heavenly home" on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at his residence with his loving family at his side. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Greater Antioch Baptist Church 5420 Cottey St., the Rev. Charles Williams, pastor, officiating. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation: Noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Hendricks Cunningham was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Edwina Cunningham Allen. Survivors: Left in the caring hands of the Almighty are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Joan Booker Cunningham; his children, Erika B. Cunningham Smith (Carl), Quinnita Cunningham Jackson, Herricks D. Cunningham (Cynthia), Tamika L. Buckley(Marcus); brothers, Garvis Cunningham (Ethel), Leondas Cunningham, Harold Cunningham (Doris), the Rev. Roderick Cunningham (Robin); sisters, Juila Dixon (George), Dena Brown(Homer); 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; aunts; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and many special friends.
