James R. Wiederkehr, 85, of Arlington passed away Saturday morning, April 20, 2013, at an Arlington hospital. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church, 5011 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington. . James was born March 22, 1928, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Rosalie and Raymond Wiederkehr. He entered the United States Marine Corps
on July 31, 1945, and served until his retirement Jan. 31, 1965, at the rank of gunnery sergeant. If almost 20 years wasn't enough working with the military, in 1966 he started a second career with the Army Air Force Exchange Service where his position in food management took him and his wife, Patricia, all over the world until his retirement in 1989. Survivors: His wife of almost 65 years, Patricia; his sons, James, Mark, Todd, Scott and Wyatt; his nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
