J.B. "Joe" Howard, 86, a loving husband, father and grandfather "Dado" and a member of Gateway Church, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013. , having served on Okinawa in the Pacific theater. He began in the lumber business at the age of 16, working for William Cameron & Co. in Waco. Later, he became founder of Joe Howard Lumber Co. Honors included being selected as Fort Worth Lumberman of the Year, president of Fort Worth Lumbermen's Association and director of Texas Lumbermen's Association. Joe was a proud member of Cook-Peavy Masonic Lodge No. 942, Fort Worth Moslah Shrine and the Scottish Rite. Joe was thrilled to play golf, including 10 years in the Colonia National Invitational Pro-Am, playing with the likes of Payne Stewart, Craig Stadler and Julius Boros. Survivors: Loving wife of 63 years, Lorinda; daughters, Marsha Hubbard and son-in-law, Gary, and Malia Howard; son, Scott Howard; and grandson, Matt Hubbard.
