Jim Ford

Detective Jim Ford, 58, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 4400 Pleasantview Drive, Arlington. Interment: 4 p.m. Saturday in Murray Cemetery in Carbon, Texas. Viewing: Noon to 8 p.m. Friday, with family to receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. at Arlington Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arlington Police Association Benevolent Fund or Debt Retirement Fund at Pleasantview Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Arlington Police Department Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers: Jim Rizy, Mike Adair, Danny Nutt, Byron Stewart, Ben Lopez, Tommy Lenoir, Randy Lockhart, Mark Simpson, John Hubbard and Maria Hinojosa. Jim was born in South Texas to Juanita and Glen Ford. He was hired on July 12, 1976, with Arlington PD and retired May 21, 2010. He served patrol, narcotics, and as a detective in homicide. Jim retired from Arlington PD on Friday and started his new position on Monday, May 24, 2010, for Tarrant County District Attorney's Office, as a criminal investigator. Survivors: Wife, Lisa Ford; daughter, Jessica Vaden and her husband, Paul; grandchildren, Jett and Ezra Vaden; "His" dog, Rusty.
