Joseph C. Griffith, 87, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. Visitation: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Joe Griffith to First Presbyterian Church, 1000 Penn St., Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Joe was born June 12, 1926, in Muskogee, Okla. He was raised by his parents, Dee W. and Ruth Griffith in McAlester, Okla. Joe was a World War II
veteran of the Air Force. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from Oklahoma State University and moved to Fort Worth in 1954 to work with a mechanical engineering firm. Soon afterwards, he met his future bride, Katherine "C.C." Morgan, at the "Downtowners" singles group at First Presbyterian Church, where he was a devoted member. They married in 1958. In 1974 Joe and C.C. created and operated C.C.'s Touch of Nature. As a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Joe was an ordained elder, held offices in the Westminster Sunday School Class, was a Sunday school teacher and participated in the men's visitation group. After retiring, he devoted his time to the Stephens Ministry at First Presbyterian Church. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Robert Griffith. Survivors: Wife of 55 years, Katherine "C.C."; daughters, Alice Frakes and husband, Roger, and Mary Katherine Griffith; son, Joseph Charles Griffith Jr. and wife, Liisa; grandchildren, Morgan Frakes, Elizabeth Frakes and Matilda Griffith; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
