Kathleen Anne Ballard, 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, with family by her side. Graveside service: 12:30 p.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Research Institute. Kathleen was born Nov. 7, 1948, in Inglewood, Calif. She grew up in Fort Worth, where she attended Fort Worth Christian School, prior to moving with her family to Long Island, N.Y. She had a beautiful voice, and traveled and sang with the A Cappella chorus at her college. She worked as a nursing assistant, and after graduating college with a master's degree in elementary education, taught school for many years. She later moved back to Fort Worth with her husband, John Ballard. Kathy liked cooking for her family and friends, enjoyed gardening and quilting, and loved her cats. Her beautiful soul enriched the lives of all she met. Survivors: Mother, Ruth Scott; brother, Tom Scott and wife, Kriss; nephews, Evan Scott and Caden Stevens; and a host of loving family members and close friends.
