. Leland "Lee" was born March 7, 1925, in Shreveport, La., and grew up in San Antonio. At the age of 16, he witnessed the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 where his stepfather was stationed. Leland joined the Air Force in 1943 and trained as a pilot. He married Patricia Burkhalter in Shreveport in 1951. He separated as major in 1953 and went on to finish his degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M in 1955. Leland was a successful businessman and owner of Flow-Dyne Engineering for over 53 years. His passion was flying. The family wishes to thank Autumn Leaves and Vitas Hospice for their compassion and care of Leland during his illness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Oldom; stepfather, Fred Oldom; and granddaughter, Tiffany Turner. Survivors: Wife, Patricia "Pat" Pendleton; son, Leland D. Pendleton Jr. and wife, Mary; and daughter, Nancy Turner and husband, Tom, all of Fort Worth.
