Louis Rodriguez, 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 28, 2013. He departed this world surrounded by his family at his home in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Born on Dec. 15, 1919, in San Antonio to Paul and Rufina Rodriguez, Louis was raised in Kerrville. He served in World War II
as a combat engineer with the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division. He received two Purple Heart
medals for wounds suffered in the Invasion of Normandy, Omaha Beach and in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. He also served in the Vietnam War
in 1966. After the war, Louis married the love of his life, Yolanda "Emma" Castillo, in 1956. After 31 years of military service, he worked for the city of Fort Worth for 11 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul; and sister, Corene Pedraza. Louis had half-sisters, Eloisa Rodriguez Lozano and Angela Gonzalez. Survivors: Wife, Yolanda "Emma" Rodriguez; children, Ruth Rodriguez Stuhlman of Kansas City, Mo., Diana Rodriguez Rothfeld of Fredericksburg, Va., Louis Rodriguez Jr. of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Zachary Stuhlman, Frank Adam Stuhlman, Jennifer Rothfeld, Paul Rothfeld, Aaron Rothfeld, Joshua Rothfeld, David Rodriguez, Yvonne Spezzia and Diana Rodriguez; brother, Jimmy Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews.
