Margaret Howell, 89, of Arlington passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Breckenridge Cemetery with the Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morehart Mortuary in Breckenridge. Memorials: Contributions may be made to
and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Margaret Louise Blythe was born March 10, 1924, in Eastland to Thomas Shelby Blythe and Allie Corene Hammett Blythe. She grew up in Eastland and married Coy Rex Howell on Nov. 18, 1940, in Strawn. Mrs. Howell graduated from Eastland High School in 1941. She worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety until she retired in December 1986. Mrs. Howell was a member of First Baptist Church of Breckenridge, Lake Arlington Baptist Church, Women's Forum and the Stephens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Rex Howell; parents, Thomas and Allie Blythe; one son, Terry Ray Howell; one sister, Barbara Canterbury; and one niece, Catherine Davies. Survivors: Son, Randal Lyn Howell and wife Trudy Maurer Howell of San Francisco, Calif.; grandsons, Mark Randal Howell and wife, Melissa, of Austin and Trent Atkins Howell and wife, Denise, of Santa Fe, N.M.; great-grandchildren, Graham Howell, Evan Howell, Lane Howell and Benjamin Howell; nephew-in-law, John Davies of Arlington; nephews, Gary Canterbury and Rusty Canterbury, both of Houston; and great friends, Tom and Sandi Young.
