Mark Herman, 56, a former Grapevine police officer
, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at J.E. Foust Funeral Home. Interment: Grapevine Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mark graduated from Woodward Oklahoma High School in 1974 and the University of Oklahoma in 1982 with his degree in criminal justice. He served his country in the United States Navy
where he was an E5-cryptographer stationed in London, England. He served with the Woodward Oklahoma and Grapevine Police Departments, retiring from Grapevine in 2008 as a sergeant. He was a Master Mason with the Grapevine chapter and was on the board of directors of the New Frontier Cowboy Church. Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting and motorcycling. Survivors: Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Rebecca Marlin Herman; brothers, Mike Herman and wife, Kay, of Raleigh, N.C., Pete Jones and wife, Sandra, of Euless; sisters, Patti Hunter and husband, Denny, of Woodward, Okla., Cathy Thomas and husband, Jack, of Las Cruses N.M.; multiple nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own children; and a host of other family and friends.
