Mary A. Kersh, 93, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. We celebrate our mother's homecoming to be with Jesus. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Friday in Independence Chapel, Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Independence Chapel. Mary was born March 21, 1920, in Carroll. She was a homemaker and military wife and raised three children. She lived in River Oaks and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved crocheting and cooking for family and friends. Her humor, hugs and kisses will be missed by all. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Rafe Hester, who was killed in World War II; second husband, Clifford Kersh; and infant girl, Betty Carolyn. Survivors: Daughters, Deloris Bowen and husband, Ron, of Joplin, Mo., and Annie Loggains and husband, Ken, of Fort Worth; son, Steve Kersh and wife, Debbie, of Justin; grandchildren, Lynne Sage, Berry Bowen, Kari Loggains, Kenneth Loggains, Chad Kersh and Brandy Dempsey; and great-grandchildren, Jared Sage, Kaitlyn Sage, Gwen Carman, Jacob Kersh and Delaney Bowen.
