Mary "Kathelene" Lyons, 44, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. Graveside service: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Kathelene was born in Tacoma, Wash., on Aug. 6, 1968, to Thomas Edward and Mary Ethelene Brown. Her father was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force
and her mother was a neonatal nurse at John Peter Smith Hospital. She grew up in Fort Worth and attended Arlington Heights High School. She entered the workforce early and developed very strong talents as a makeup artist. Kathelene worked as a product specialist in the Cosmetics Department for Bobbi Brown at Neiman Marcus. She cherished her work mostly because she had an ability to make people feel better about themselves, whether it be through her trade, kind words, or shared experiences. Recent years of activities would range from boots to heels, from dance floor to baby stroller, from elder care to baby play. She loved spending time with her family, decorating and reading, but mostly was a wonderful wife and dedicated mother to her two adoring children. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Edward Brown; mother, Mary Ethelene Brown; and her brothers, Clifford and Gregory Brown. Survivors: Husband, Richard Gerard Lyons; daughter, Claire Elizabeth Lyons; son, Patrick Michael Lyons; brother, Scott Brown; niece, Amber Brown; nephew, Jake Brown; as well as numerous friends and extended family.
