Norma Pauline "Granny" Blount, 91, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Norma was born Jan. 16 1922, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Charlie and Nellie Kennedy Brooks. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and The Salvation Army. She had attended Saginaw First United Methodist Church and was a retired baker with Coburn's Cafeteria. Granny was preceded in death by her husband, Al Blount; daughter, Nancy Jean Smith; and son-in-law, Joe Boyd Mayfield. Survivors: Daughter, Cherie L. Mayfield; grandchildren, Stacy Mayfield, Amy Atchison and husband, Stephen, Wendy McCrory and husband, Eric, Paula Carter and husband, Teddy, Alysia Taylor, Bill Smith; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her dog, Cooper.
