Oleane Downing Parten, 91, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at her home. Service: 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, 221 W. Church St., Weatherford. Interment: 3 p.m. Monday in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Oleane was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Henderson County to Jacob Esau and Gladys Oleane Sealy Anthony. She married Billy Frank Downing on June 8, 1940. They were married for 50 years until he passed away in 1990. Oleane loved Jesus our Lord and loved doing His work through her church where she held many positions, including Sunday school teacher, youth leader, women's missionary leader, and deacon's wife. On Dec. 14, 1991, Oleane married longtime friend, J.B. Parten, and they continued to be actively involved in their church home, First Baptist Church, Weatherford. Survivors: Spouse of 22 years, J.B. Parten; sister, Joyce and husband, Bill McKee; daughters, Sherian and husband, Grant Hornbeak, Dottie and husband, Bill Bent, and Rita and husband, Mike Stinson; grandchildren, Terri Heaton and husband, Chuck Boerschig, Toni and husband, John Gasper, Kelly and husband, Robert Pryor, Michael and wife, Jennifer Stinson, and Trisha and husband, Blake Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Shyanne and Shaylee Stinson, Campbell and Cody Mitchell, Joey Gasper, Dylan Pryor; and J.B. Parten's family.
