Otis Russell, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013. Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive guests beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Otis was born July 16, 1923, in Johnson County to Otis Boyd and Nettie Langley Russell. He was a proud World War II
veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy
aboard a destroyer. He retired from Martin Sprocket & Gear in Arlington in 1985 as plant superintendent, where he had worked for 29 years. Otis had been a Mason for 63 years and was a member of South Fort Worth Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Survivors: Wife of 71 years, Johnnie Russell; sons, Gary Otis Russell and wife, Beverly, of Corsicana and Randy Alan Russell and wife, Brenda, of Abilene; grandchildren, Kelly Tommack and husband, Danny, Doug Russell and wife, Whitney, Richmond Russell and wife, Carrie, Zackery Russell, Carrie Hensley and husband, Kerry, and Justin Little; and 10 great-grandchildren.
