Robert C. James Jr., 81, loving husband and excellent father, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013. Service: 11 a.m. Monday at North Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6955 Boulevard 26, North Richland Hills. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Boulevard, Colleyville. Bob was born June 21, 1931, in Wichita, Kan., to Bertha and Robert James Sr. He grew up in Wichita where he attended East High School. Bob served in the Army
from July 1952 to July 1954. He was based in Landstuhl, Germany. Bob attended Bethany Nazarene College and TCU. Bob married Alice Baker on Aug. 14, 1954. He was a member of the Nazarene Church where he received a Distinguished Service Award for his work with the music ministry. Since his retirement, Bob and Alice have attended North Richland Hills Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Bob and Alice enjoyed traveling in their fifth-wheel trailer and visiting with their family. Bob and Alice were married for 58 years. Bob was an aerospace engineer with Boeing, Lockheed and retired from LTV after 26 years of service in 1993. Survivors: Wife, Alice James; children, Lynne Burke and husband, Jerry, Susan Shelton and husband, Jerry, Rob James and wife, Kay, Chris James and Stephanie Savidge; sisters, Nita Rose, Janice Payton, Bertha Laird and husband, Wayne, and Arva Butler; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
