Roger Harold Cassels passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, at home. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Born Oct. 13, 1944, in Carlsbad, N.M., to Vernon and Lois Cassels, Harold was one of six children. After high school, Harold served our country in the U.S. Navy
. He married Marcia Barrick in January of 1969 and together they raised two children. After moving from Carlsbad, N.M., to Weatherford in 1985, Harold opened his own business, M & H Electric. Harold was an outdoorsman, a hunter and fisherman. He was a family man who believed in the Baptist faith. Harold was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge
in Carlsbad, N.M., and spent time as a member of the Moose Lodge as well. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lois; son, Jim Cassels; and brother, Russ Cassels. Survivors: Harold leaves behind his bride of 45 years, Marcia; daughter, Alicia Gossett and her husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Jordan and Mallory Gossett; brothers, Gene Cassels and his wife, Glenda, of Carlsbad, N.M., Jerry Cassels and his wife, Cheryl, of Weatherford, Scott Cassels and his wife, Lorrie, of Alabama; sister, Margaret Lofton of Austin; sister-in-law, Judy; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
