Ronald "Ronnie" Dean Bearden, 67, of Iraan and formerly of Fort Worth, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at a hospital in Iraan. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Western Hills United Methodist Church in Fort Worth with Raul Gutierrez officiating. His ashes will be scattered at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, by the pond on the fifth green at the Iraan Golf Course with Rev. Mike Wright officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane. Ronnie was born Aug. 16, 1945, in Fort Worth to L.E. and Polly Bearden. He served in the Navy on the USS Thomaston, being honorably discharged Oct. 22, 1964. Ronnie was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School, TCU and Texas Wesleyan. Ronnie retired from McCurdy Oil Co. as a field supervisor. Ronnie was a longtime resident of Iraan. He loved to play golf and shoot darts. He had a passion for learning and never stopped; he loved to read and study. Ronnie was a family man and loved his family very much. Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline "Polly" Bearden, and his infant brother. Survivors: Daughters, Wendy Clay and her husband, David, of Benbrook and Ronda Fellingham and her husband, Lincoln, of North Richland Hills; son, Larry Bearden of Bedford; father, L.E. Bearden of Fort Worth; sister, Diane Harvey and her husband, Paul Jr., of Quanah; and five grandchildren.
