Samuel Jefferson McCollough, 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013. Service: 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Sam served in the U.S. Navy
as well as the Air Force in medical administration in the Korean and Vietnam war
s. He graduated from Troy University and was a Texas CPA. After being in the service, he served in the DCAA where he was an audit manager. After retirement, he performed volunteer work, which included delivering Meals on Wheels, teaching computer classes at Tarrant County College and volunteering at the HEB Cardiac Rehab Clinic at the Bedford hospital for seven years. We will miss him dearly and we will carry him in our hearts forever. Sam was the last surviving of nine children born to Dave and Beulah McCollough in Roanoke, Ala. Survivors: His wife of 59 years, Joyce Brown McCollough; daughter, Joy Emmons, her husband, Jack, and their children, Jordan Emmons and Jenna Kokoles and her husband, Jim, and their son, Noah.
