Tamara Spradling Schmidt(1960 - 2014)

Tamara Spradling Schmidt, 54, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2014. She had valiantly battled against breast cancer for 20-plus years. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Light of the World Lutheran Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Light of the World building fund in memory of Tamara. She was born Jan. 17, 1960, in Amarillo. Tamara was married to Steve Schmidt and blessed their home with overwhelming love and warmth. Tamara graduated from both Amarillo College and Texas Christian University and was a registered nurse. As a registered nurse and nursing manager, she positively impacted and touched the lives of countless patients and co-workers. She was fondly known for her loving nature. Tamara loved and adored her family and friends holding them closely in her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, fishing and boating and loving on her dog, Katy. Tamara was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Spradling; and mother-in-law, Rosemary Schmidt. Survivors: Husband, Steve Schmidt; mother, Genevieve Spradling and stepfather, Ray Rhodes, of Fort Worth; sisters, Ginger Robertson and husband, Jerry, of Quail and Rebecca Spradling and Keith Pack of Fort Worth; father-in-law, Leonard Schmidt; sister-in-law, Sandi Schmidt-Toney; nieces, Tekie Robertson, Ashley Mercer and Jerrica Spradling; nephews, Garren Pack, Lantz Toney and Colton Toney; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, other family and friends.
