Ted Bryant Kuhn

Ted Bryant Kuhn passed Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013. Celebration of life: 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Pasha, 2325 University Blvd., Houston. All are welcome. A full military honor memorial will take place at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston. All are welcome. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a military organization. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserve from 1954-1962. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. After attending two years of college in Arlington, he completed his B.A. in political science at the University of Houston. He was then accepted at South Texas College of Law, and after receiving law degree he then received his juris doctor in 1971. Not only did he pass the law board, but in 1983 he also achieved the honor of board certification by Texas Board of Legal Specialties in Labor & Employment Law. His representation of unions, administrations of their trust funds, pensions, health, welfare and trust funds spanned 40 years. He was also a senior partner in Burtrill & Kuhn Law Firm. Ted was preceded by death by his father, Joseph P. Kuhn; mother, Alpine Mae Kuhn; and sister, Mae Ellen Kuhn. Survivors: His longtime loving companion, Varchia Morgan Kuhn; daughters, Karen Newton, Samantha Kuhn and Melissa Walden; brother, Doug Kuhn; sisters, Mildred Collins and Betty Stowe; and four grandchildren.
