Theodore Lopez, 83, died Saturday, June 1, 2013. Ted's celebration of life and burial was Monday, June 10, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Ted was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Fort Worth. He was the seventh of 12 children born to Jose and Ramona Duran Lopez. He grew up on the North Side where his family fostered friendships that to this day, family members still appreciate and enjoy. Ted attended M.G. Ellis and Circle Park Elementary schools and graduated from Tech High School. He also attended Holding Institute, a Methodist boarding school, in Laredo. Ted was Korean War
veteran. After his discharge from the military, he enrolled at TCJC and earned an associate degree. Ted enjoyed hunting with his four-legged buddies. Throughout his life, his dogs were constant companions. Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Phyllis; son, Bernie; parents; and six siblings, Josefina, Ramon, Elijio, Elvira, Ernest and Rosa. Survivors: One son; two daughters; brothers, Joe, Adolph and wife, Eunice, Mike and wife, Martie; sisters, Cecilia, Mary Louise Elkin and husband, David; daughter-in-law, Mary; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a large family of nieces and nephews.
