The baritone Texas drawl of Thomas "Tommy" Ory, devoted husband, father and grandfather, fell silent Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at his home in Weatherford. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish in Aledo. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 6 p.m. Thursday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Tommy was born in Fort Worth on July 20, 1936, to Stanley Raphael and Ernestine Dickie Ory. A devout Roman Catholic, he graduated from Laneri boys' school in 1954 and was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth. Tommy attended Texas Tech University and was an avid supporter of the Red Raiders and other area pro teams. He worked at the General Motors
facility in Arlington and owned his own Mexican curio business for a time. Much of his working career was in the commercial printing business. He retired from Cockrell Printing Co. in 2007, and managed his own business until his death. Survivors: His loving wife of 50 years, Alice; daughters, Christy Lea Zarate and husband, Eric, and Karen Ann Turner and husband, Marcus; and granddaughters, Madeline Minette and Nicole Marie Mayeux.
